About the Conference
This award-winning annual conference brings Sixth Form students together from a range of backgrounds to explore issues of common concern, including equality, social justice and cultural identity, showing that young people have the power to make a difference in their communities and on the world stage. It was launched in 2002 by a group of students concerned about growing divisions around the world following the September 11th attacks. The conference has since gained a reputation for its challenging discussion and powerful speakers.
The conference is organised by the students of Mulberry Schools Trust. Working alongside staff, they identify the conference themes, invite speakers, handle logistics, design conference branding and host delegates on the day. Schools then come together from across the UK to consider the means of becoming active in their communities. Students are given the opportunity to take the floor to share their points of view on the topics raised and also have the chance to engage with one another in student-led discussion groups and workshops provided by inspirational activists and artists. Our world vitally needs their youthful leadership, creativity, and compassion!
